I’m sure you’ve heard about the recent Unitrends family addition, PHD Virtual! We’ve so excited here to be expanding our technology and offerings. If you haven’t already, you should read Dr. Campbell’s recent blog post and our news release about this exciting chapter the Unitrends story.
Today is a HUGE day for both products with respect to Hyper-V functionality. Today, Unitrends announces general availability of its Release 7.3, which provides full support for Windows Server 2012 R2 and Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 (free core version), including agent-based backup for physical servers, host-level VM backup and restore for VMs and support for R2 as a host platform for Unitrends Enterprise Backup.
Also, PHD Virtual has announced its Backup for Hyper-V v7, which also includes support for the Server 2012 R2 products.
While you’ve likely already known about Unitrends free backup products, you may not be aware that PHD also offers free backup for Hyper-V VM’s. You can learn more about their freemium offer here.
So with our new acquisition of PHD, Unitrends is offering you even more choices for protecting your IT environment, and we continue to invest in providing a rich product suite for the Hyper-V user community.
Happy Holidays to all!
